• Medusa by Dorhout Mees at Moooi Gallery

    02.09.10

Showing from September 1st till November 1st at Moooi Gallery, Amsterdam: Medusa, the Cruise 2010 collection by Dorhout Mees.

Dorhout Mees focuses on luxurious functionalism: use of rich materials and
designed with respect of the female body. Highly feminine shapes are combined with a touch of nonchalance to create a distinctive style.
Medusa, the first collection of Dorhout Mees, is a whole silk collection. It features organza, knitted silk and flowing chiffon. All these materials come together and complement each other. The accent lies on the silhouette of the body shining thru, while the organic and flowing shapes make Medusa a little surreal.

  • the Wonderful World of Wackerhaus

    17.08.10

One of the shows I liked the most during CFW, seen from my personal fashion taste, was Wackerhaus. Beautiful colors, shape and style.
Wackerhaus was founded in 2003 by the lovely designer Trine Wackerhausen, who I ran into in the bathroom of a restaurant right after her show. It was nice to talk to her for a while in such a non fashion environment. Her sweet and modest personality made me even a bigger fan.

    Crown Princess Mary:

    Backstage:

Peter Jensen's resort collection, presented during Copenhagen Fashion Week, really felt like a party. With a live performance by Giana Factroy and a very very special guest made an appearance: Denmark's Crown Princess Mary.

Thank you Andrea for sending me the catwalk and backstage photos.
