• Gucci by Gucci

    28.01.08

Gucci's new fragrance Gucci by Gucci is now available in stores and if you have seen the commercial you know it must be a winner! First of all the commercial is directed by the amazing David Lynch, director of movies like The Straight Story, Blue Velvet and the classic TV series Twin Peaks. So Gucci couldn't go wrong in the first place with this man on board. Second, the soundtrack of the commercial is 'Heart of Glass' by fashion icon Blondie. And three, the commercial stars are models Raquel Zimmerman, Natasha Poly and Freja Beha Erichsen dancing Blondie moves in beautiful Gucci dresses. It's a winners formula!

  • The end of an era…

Yesterday, January 23 2008, legendary Italian designer Valentino (75) waved his last goodbye to fashion in Paris. Valentino took his final walk down the runway to a standing ovation without being over sentimental. Valentino started his career as couturier in 1962 when his show in the Palazzo Pitti in Florence was labeled as a revelation by the fashion industry. "I am especially grateful that I have been able to keep my own style over the decades, in spite of the many changes that have taken place in the world of fashion and in its business." Valentino said. His style was known as elegant and classic, with bright colors and the famous red dress. Valentino's last show was amazing, a goodbye with white satin, strapless dresses, bright flowers, the signature long dress and real craftsmanship. Alessandra Facchinetti, the ex-Gucci designer, will be Valentino's successor, charged with the task to keep Valentino the Brand on the top of chic.

The '80 – '90's supermodels are not slowing down anytime soon! We already see Stephanie Seymour, Eva Herzigova, Naomi Campbell and Claudia Schiffer in in the Louis Vuitton S/S 2008 Ad Campaign and Christy Turlington in the Chanel Bags S/S 2008 Ad Campaign. Now Naomi and Kate are posing together on the cover of the February 2008 issue of the French Vogue, shot by Mario Testino. Naomi was the magazines first black cover girl in August 1988, a year later she was the first black cover model for the American Vogue.

The Spring edition of Pop Magazine will be entirely dedicated to Stephanie Seymour. I reported earlier that the supermodel will star (with fellow supermodels) in the Louis Vuitton S/S 2008 Ad Campaign. The 39 year old supermodel is back in business and is still looking amazing! The Stephanie Seymour issue of Pop Magazine will hit the stores on January 31.

Chloe Sevigny is the new style advisor for Elle U.K. For the next six months she will answer letters from readers about style. She also will be on the cover of the magazine's March issue. So from style icon to designing her own collection for Open Ceremony (which will be available at Selfridges from March) to style advisor for ELLE Magazine. Jealous anyone?
